Sugar, spice, and everything nice may be the ingredients to make a perfect little girl, but like the Powerpuff Girls, I too have a bit of Chemical X along with a dash of sass and snark that make me the perfect version of me. As a self-proclaimed PPG, I’m showcasing my Powerpuff Girls Buttercup Cosplay along with two of my favorite ladies, Charlie and Karen for our new blog series, Casual Cosplay Connections.
Powerpuff Girls was one of my favorite cartoons as a teen. Naturally, as a teenaged brunette with a serious case of BRF (bitchy resting face) and the occasional attitude problem, Buttercup was my favorite. Although I haven’t caught any of the new, revamped Powerpuff Girls, I imagine it’s still pretty awesome.
When Charlie suggested the idea of doing a Powerpuff Girl casual cosplay, I knew I had to jump in as Buttercup. Thankfully, green is one of my favorite colors and I already owned the perfect green dress for this cosplay. I went pretty literal with this look, but I know there are so many more casual ways to embrace your inner Powerpuff Girl. For my look I went with a solid green dress, wide black belt around the waist, white leggings, and a pair of Converse.
Not only is this look fun, but it’s comfortable and allows for some people saving and villain butt-kicking. I can’t wait to see the looks that Karen as Blossom and Charlie as Bubbles have put together!
Have you ever done a group cosplay before?
Oh my gosh that is so rad! I love it and can’t wait to see how your group cosplay goes off!!
Charlie came up with the idea and I thought it was so much fun 🙂
Love it! Excellent everyday cosplay. PPG have always been a fave of mine, and this looks like it was a fun one to do for everyday cosplay.
I had never thought to do a PPG everyday cosplay before, but this was comfortable and fun 🙂
THis is so cute!!! And is it weird that all the grass in the photo made me remember how weird (to a northerner) Orlando grass feels?! lol
Too funny – I never knew how crappy Florida grass was until we visited my husband’s family in NJ. I want soft, squishy grass like everyone else has lol
This outfit is adorable! I was always a bubbles fan myself! 😛
Thanks 🙂 Powerpuff Girls were seriously just so awesome 🙂
So adorable! I love casual/everyday cosplay. It’s something I’d like to incorporate more into my own wardrobe when I pick out new things to buy! Love that dress by the way!
It’s so fun to piece together looks with items you already have. I try to do a casual cosplay whenever I can because who doesn’t want a little more nerd in their life :p
Rocking this look Danielle! You are the perfect Buttercup to my Bubbles! Love it!
We make a pretty fantastic group of Powerpuff Girls 🙂
I love this idea so much! How fun!!
Thanks – I had a lot of fun putting my outfit together 🙂
This is awesome! I LOVE your cosplay! <3 I would love to participate in this CCC thing! 😉 <3 <3 <3 <3
Thanks! We’ll have to post about it in our GGB group to get more ladies involved – that would be so much fun!
I wanted to do a group cosplay with friends we had in another state. We had all sorts of cool ideas, but my favorite was the Adventure Time/Sailor Scouts crossover.
That sounds like an awesome crossover cosplay – hope you get to do it with your friends and share with all of us 🙂
Love this!! My favorite was always Buttercup too, I just love her attitude<3 You captured her perfectly!
I always love a sassy character haha 🙂
What a fun post! Your outfit looks cute and very versatile and comfortable!
Thanks! It really is so comfy and fun to wear 🙂
Great cosplay! Buttercup was my favorite also. I have a green dress that reminds me of her so much; I should use it for a casual cosplay sometime.
Hope you try out a Buttercup casual cosplay with your green dress 🙂
