I decided to continue with my Daredevil Season 2 posts by doing a few casual cosplay looks today. Casual cosplaying makes me wish I had a job where I got to where real clothes instead of scrubs (and or pj’s when I’m doing the stay-at-home-mom thing). There’s so many cool and fun ways to embody your favorite characters through fashion without blatantly being dressed like that person. Since we’re meeting two new people on Daredevil this week, I wanted to do an Elektra cosplay as well as a Punisher cosplay.
So Elektra (based on the comic images I’ve seen) appears to not really wear much clothing at all. Like, she might as well be naked and fighting crime in a bed sheet. Elektra in Netflix’s Daredevil has a lot more clothing on. I wanted to come up with a look that features her (in my opinion) signature red, but with more coverage a la Netflix and this is what I came up with for my Elektra cosplay look 🙂
This Punisher look seems very true to both the comics and the images floating around for Netflix’s Daredevil. I love the lightness of the top paired with the hardness of the leather. This is definitely something you could wear to kick some serious butt. I had fun with this look as I’ve never made a look from a male character into something more feminine.
I’ve been trying to incorporate more subtle ways to embrace my favorite characters in my day-to-day outfit choices. This is my first go at creating looks for characters and I have to admit, it’s a little addicting. Sometimes you just want to be a superhero without wearing an actual logo and casual cosplay is the perfect way to do it – so be prepared for more of these fun fashion style posts from me 🙂
Which outfit do you like the best or would you most likely wear?
