While I realize this post isn’t about anything nerdy, it was a lot of fun and who doesn’t love fun. This weekend I had the most lovely experience having afternoon tea at the Ritz Carlton here in Orlando, FL.
It’s best to secure a reservation for this event, which is held on Sunday afternoons from 2-4pm. The set up was beautiful and we each got our own pot of tea.
We decided to with the Royal Tea service which includes a glass of champagne and strawberries with whipped cream.
Tea service comes with four different type of tea sandwiches, assorted pastries (including a fruit tartlet which was my absolute favorite), and a fresh scone with lemon curd and Devonshire cream. I pretty much wanted to lick the Devonshire cream right off of the plate it was so good.
You get one of each item. Although it seems small, I was so full by the end of it. Everything is rather decadent and delicious – one of the sandwiches even have caviar on top. I felt pretty fancy and this was really such a fun treat.
There are many teas to choose from as well – green teas, black teas, even detox teas (was definitely not trying to start any sort of detox while in spanx and a dress though, ha). I went with a vanilla tea, while my friends went for pear caramel and green tea passion – all of which were very nice.
I decided to try a slightly retro look. I ordered my dress from Pink Roadham Retro just for the occasion and even attempted some pinup style hair. It took some serious coaxing as hair is not my strong suit, but I eventually got it close to what I wanted. I’ve been slightly obsessed with retro looks on Instagram, so figured this was the perfect time to try it out for myself.
I would definitely recommend doing afternoon tea at the Ritz Carlton. It’s such a fun and unique experience and is a great way to spend an afternoon with girlfriends or family.
Pinkies out, my friends!
