Yay, Friday! I’ve got a lot of stuff planned for this weekend, so I’m ready for it to begin. Doing Epcot Food & Wine with my friends this weekend (so be on the lookout for post 2) and am having high tea at the Ritz Carlton for my good friend’s birthday. I even got a cute dress and everything.
It’s also time for 5 Fandom Friday. This week’s prompt is Favorite Fictional Teachers and I was easily able to think of 10 or more. Here’s my narrowed down list of 5.
He’s a great teacher and a lot like a father figure. He has some funny one liners, that usually sound like something a dad might say. Although I’m not far into Buffy at all, they have some touching moments and their banter is great. Plus he’s like the hottest librarian ever.
Great teacher, he is. Yoda is awesome. I feel like there’s just no explanation needed. Not only is he a Jedi Master, but he’s just awesome on all levels. He’s wise, can kick some serious ass, and has a great sense of humor. With Yoda, size definitely matters not.
Ms. Norbury is full of funny comebacks, but also gives a lot of great advice. Don’t dumb yourself down for boys, stop calling each other sluts and whores, and push yourself to greatness. I think every high school girl needs a teacher like her, because those years are hard and people can be really mean (Hello, Plastics), but having someone there to help you navigate the high school crap would make it a lot easier.
So while I’ve only seen the movies, she’s fantastic in them. I love her no nonsense attitude and although she may be strict, she still cares about everyone’s overall well-being. She’s an Animagus which is pretty damn cool as well (can my cat be McGonagall, please?) and she steps right up to protect Hogwarts when the time comes. Above all, she’s Maggie Smith, and who doesn’t love Maggie Smith!?!
Sure he’s crude and kind of an a-hole, but that’s basically why I love him. He’s one of my favorite characters on the show because he just tells it like it is. His lines are always hilarious and oftentimes what I’m thinking, too. So cheers to the former Mr, then Mrs, and now back to Mr. Garrison.
Who’s your favorite fictional teacher? I can’t wait to check out everyone else’s Fandom Friday. Have a great weekend!
